I finally finished sewing out this jacket I was making for Kristin, the muffin lover. It turned out better than I expected as I have no sewing experience. I copied the Bella Sister's hoodie design (they take a sweater and sew it into the arms and add a hood to exceptionally ugly jackets turning them into something you really want to wear) and then cut out my muffin/cupcake from scraps of suede. Don't use the smooth as it doesn't work so well in the sewing machine. I could have tried a different needle I suppose but didn't have anything else handy so I ended up shredding the edges a little.
We just finished printing the life cycle of the frog onto organic onesies and are adding it into a gift set of baby balm and baby soap from this amazing organic baby soap company. Their stuff kicks burt's bees products and contains um no lead or anything synthetic. We just went out and purchased an aquarium to which we are adding frogs, a snail and some fish...hence the inspiration. Check it out!
So, I made Ms. Ava a mermaid cake for her birthday and let's just say that I am not a baker. It came out looking a bit like a mermaid none the less and was a fun project for the two of us.
So, I came across this huge collection of old neckties..like 3 boxes. And, I am trying to figure out a way to recycle them. I sew this little piece together and am patting myself on the back at how brilliant and funny I am. It is like a giant bib! But, then I took a step back, had Jim, Loring and Rebecca laugh at me and decide that I best not spend any $ on this idea.
